Infant massage instructor training program

formation - 3Teaching infant massage is not only about knowing strokes, it implies respecting the baby and to have at all times an understanding of his needs as well as recognizing the important role his parents are playing for his healthy growth and development. It’s a stimulating work for anyone who is interested in promoting the practice of infant massage in our culture and valuing parent’s role in our society.

Our infant massage instructor training program includes is an intensive 4 day (29 hours) training and a certification process which includes a take home assignment, readings and a practice teaching.

The infant massage instructor training is a careful blend of theory, practice and learning experience allowing for academic advancement, self-discovery and fun on the following subjects:

-        History of IAIM and infant massage

-        Massage strokes

-        Benefits of infant massage

-        Bonding and attachment

-        Babies body language

-        Crying

-        Teaching families

-        Communication techniques

-        Observation and participation to a series of infant massage class

-        Adaptation of massage for babies and children with special/additional needs

-        Adaptation of massage to child stage of growth and development

-        Understanding and valuing the parents

-        Promoting and marketing infant massage classes
